I love fruity cocktails, but not when they’re super sweet…Hello, hangover! #nothanks So a cocktail that has a little fruit flavor, an herb edge and is topped with prosecco, is right up my alley! It’s a delightful balance of flavor. I came across this recipe (that I tweaked) when I was trying to think of fun fall sips for me and the mister. Seriously, tell me a prosecco plum spritz doesn’t sound delish?
Prosecco Plum Spritz
Serving for 2.
- 2-3 plums
- Prosecco (I used La Marca)
- Fresh Thyme Sprigs
- Simple syrup
- Juice from 1 lemon
In measure cup, add 3 tbsp of simple syrup (you could do 4 for a little more sweet), 4-5 thyme sprigs and lemon juice and muddle 2 chopped plums. In a cocktail shaker (filled halfway with ice) add mixture, shake. In two glasses, add a few ice cubes and pour mixture between the two. Top off with prosecco of choice. To garnish, add sliced plums and thyme sprigs as preferred.
Cheers to this Fall champagne cocktail!
