I’m not a dark liquor drinker, never liked it. However, my hubby enjoys it so I’ve learned a couple recipes that he’s given his stamp of approval. One of them is this cinnamon maple whiskey sour! Certainly anyone can drink this, but I envision it being perfect for cool Fall boys night in, to enjoy watching a game, anytime really. Whiskey, to me, always seems like the ultimate guys drink. And cinnamon and maple seem like quintessential Fall flavors.
Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour
- Ground Cinnamon
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish
- Fresh lemon juice (4 tbsps)
- Maple Syrup (4 teaspoons)
- Whiskey (6 tbsps – we had Bulleit on hand as it’s one the hubby really likes, but whatever you prefer)
Add ice to cocktail shaker (I filled it half way) and pour whiskey, syrup and lemon juice. Shake well and pour between two glasses (I always serve using large round or square ice cubes – molds here). I add a pinch of cinnamon after pouring, stir and then garnish with 2 cinnamon sticks.
Cinnamon screams holiday so I love the smell and extra ‘umph’ it gives to the drink. Enjoy!
