Okay, darlings! Remember how I told you that I refuse to think of rosé as just ‘summer water‘? It really is seasonal and you can really drink or use it (like that tie in *wink) year round. Well, here is your new go-to dessert – Rosé Strawberries – that doesn’t make you feel (too) bad since the main ingredient is FRUIT! These sugared rosé strawberries are so good – couldn’t wait to give them a try! Happy hour, healthy bite and dessert all in one – does it get any better? Not really.
As you know when hosting, the more recipes to have in your arsenal that are quick and easy or even make ahead, will make you less stressed and more inclined to relax and enjoy your company! This is one of those recipes I would recommend. And hey, you can serve them with a nice, cold glass of that rosé you used to make the berries – I mean, lets not be wasteful. Imagine serving these at a brunch, happy hour, or using as a sorbet or other dessert topping…so many options.
- Fresh strawberries
- Rosé (I chose Whispering Angel, my fav) – approx. 2cups; depends on the amount of strawberries
- Fresh Mint for garnish
Rinse and dry strawberries. Put in mixing bowl and pour in rosé (think of the rosé as a marinade so you want to cover the strawberries to soak in the juice). Place in refrigerator for at least 1hr. Remove, drain and pat dry. In a shallow bowl, toss/roll lightly in sugar and put in serving bowl. Garnish with fresh mint. Serve and Enjoy!
Note: You could also chop a bunch of fresh mint and mix in with sugar for even more flavor!
