The best way to describe my approach to fashion is…

Classic with a spicy twist.

My style icon is…

My mom! Her style is fabulous – all of my friends rave about her style and how beautiful she is and always looks. Always so put together from head to toe and style for days.

The best style advice I ever received was…

from my mom who says ‘every style is not for every body – dress based on what looks best on YOU!’ She’s so right!

My fashion philosophy is…

Always be ‘on’ and dressed to impress – I got this from my mom who always reminds of this. Coco Chanel also said “dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman” – couldn’t agree more!

In terms of wardrobe, I would never…

be too risqué.

The most cherished piece in my closet has to be…

My wedding dress. It is a stunning Mark Zunino silk chiffon mermaid style dress with crystal beading and a cathedral length train. I adore it not only because it is so beautiful but also the memories and what it represents.

I never leave the house without…

My sunglasses. Apart from the obvious utility of them,  they can sometimes be,  as Rachel Zoe says, a girls best ‘do not disturb’ sign.

My favorite designers are…

Diane von Furstenberg – her wrap dresses are my favorite. So figure flattering and can be dressed up or down. The colors and patterns are stunning as well.

Karl Lagerfeld – the way he has carried on the Chanel legacy is wonderful. Consistently churning out the classics in an inventive way!

When it comes to footwear, I always…

Prefer comfort. While a family friend always said ‘there’s no price for beauty baby’ and I do agree; I still prefer to be comfortable. I love stilettos (I have a weakness for Louboutins) but they tend to not be the most comfortable so I am strategic about when, where and for how long, I will have to wear them lol.

As far as accessories go, I prefer…

Not to overdo it. I have staple pieces that I wear from day to day (my Yurman bangles, Rolex watch, my engagement ring/wedding ring and diamond studs. For a special event I will always go with a statement earring or necklace (never both) and a bracelet.

In regards to jewelry, I opt for…

Staples. My David Yurman bangles are my regular arm candy (I typically wear three on my right arm and one on my left with my watch) – they go with everything!

My makeup approach is…

It’s all about the eyes, especially during the evening. I love a lined/smokey eye look (either dark smokey or natural smokey). I have green eyes and I love to play them up.

In [Miami, DC, Dallas, market name], I shop at…

Cusp in Georgetown (when looking for dresses); the bigs – Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales.

My secret weapon when it comes to fashion is…

Mall of Sharon. It is what I’ve nicknamed my mom’s closet. I can’t even count the number of times I’ll go in there and find the missing piece(s) to an outfit. Her accessories, especially, are seriously lust-worthy!

When I go to the office, I don’t leave without my…

Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag. It is a classic, designer bag that is perfect for the work day – it lives up to it’s name and holds everything I need.

When meeting clients all day, my favorite style is…

stylish, classic and comfortable yet still trendy.

My ultimate fashion splurge is…

Accessories – specifically jewelry.

Fashion icon worth emulating…

the House of Chanel’s aesthetic.

Favorite designer of all time…

Coco Chanel. Her clothes, her style philosophy and her ‘girl boss’ nature – LOVE!

Ultimate trendsetter of today…

Social media fashion influencers today are today’s trendsetters – no one individual anymore.

The one trend I can do without…

Holes all over your clothes (tees, sweatshirts, etc.). I’m all for a ripped skinny jean or boyfriend jean, but the holes in tops…I can’t. I can’t fathom spending upwards of $100 on a top that looks destroyed. Looking as though you have moths in your closet is not cute.

The one trend I can’t live without…

Athleisure. On days when I’m just running around I live in leggings or stylish work out gear. It’s comfortable and trendy. So many brands are creating stylish ‘athleisure’ lines because who doesn’t love it?!

My first fashion moment was…

in middle school. I was dressing up for a friends’ bar mitzvah and wore this beautiful long, red, strapless dress with a little slit in it. Everyone loved it and it was the talk of the party – it was known as ‘Danai’s infamous red dress!’

I look best in…

Dresses – be it short/long or for any occasion.

Bags: big or small?

Big for sure. I do love a cute clutch, but I love the look of a big bag and the space/flexibility it offers.

Stilettos or blocks?

Stilettos – it’s such a sexy look…and hopefully they are comfy.

Black or white?

Black and White – classic!

Diamonds or pearls?

Diamonds always….they’re a girl’s best friend! 😉

Dresses or pants?

I love wearing dresses, especially when an occasion allows me to go glam and wear and evening gown….I think it’s the pageant girl in me.

Patterns or solids?
