After attending the Luke Bryan concert Sunday night and then putting together this post, feelin’ a little bit country! The concert was pretty good by the way, honestly I only like a few of LB’s songs (mainly because he isn’t one of my go-to country artists) but still a lot of fun!
Back to the post.
I was in the mood for a rustic/country style brunch look and here we are. Country style doesn’t always have to be blue/red plaid, mason jars and burlap #ohmy … You can achieve that vibe in other ways! I started with these great wicker-inspired placemats from Crate and Barrel – I love them. Why? Because you could go casual like this or dress them up too. Next, I topped the placemats with classic, white everyday plates and then neatly folded linen napkins! I love the minty green color of the napkins and it’s just a peek of color to brighten up the table setting.
My favorite detail of this table setting are the fabulous fruit appetizer plates from Williams Sonoma, lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit – they seemed to be the perfect plates for this brunch. For the centerpiece, I decided to go for a fruit basket (monochromatic vibes) instead of fresh flowers – shocking I know.
To me, going with a country style or ‘farm to table’ look is serving casual, simplicity. Incorporating natural/nature elements brings it home and to give it a chic look is not going too cliché. Wondering what to serve? Go with yummy pastries, a frittata, a fruit platter…or for me, bacon darling! #yum
