The Night Before: Rehearsal Dinner Recap

#WeddingWednesday: I wish we could relive the wedding over and over again, but thankfully we can (in a way) thanks to our beautiful photos. Our amazing photographer, Moshe, was kind enough to stop by our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner to capture a few moments and we are so grateful he did.

[Weddiquette Tip]
Traditionally, the rehearsal dinner is made up of your close (read immediate) family and those participating in the wedding (read bridal party and their significant others/dates). There is no right or wrong; I’ve read that some take that opportunity to invite more people to share in that time together since the wedding day will be a blur – whatever works!

We wanted our rehearsal dinner to be traditionally intimate, with just immediate family and bridal party. To enjoy the moment with those closest to us, share in a celebratory dinner and toast to the day ahead, and to thank those that were making the day possible and even more special by being a part of it.
Even more, as mentioned (here), we wanted each moment to act as a stepping stone to the next – we didn’t want a ‘mini wedding’ or give too much to any one moment where the next would not be even bigger, bolder and more fabulous – as I share more of the wedding it will make more sense *wink*
I may have mentioned that Bj loves Ralph Lauren – the traditional, manly, style and our rehearsal dinner venue, Old Ebbitt Grill, offered just that. The private room had beautifully rich wood paneled walls, matching bar, and all of the “heavy, detailed” elements that he loves. It was the perfect space to have dinner and incorporate aspects of his style that wouldn’t be featured the next evening.

A rehearsal dinner is just that, a dinner, enjoy the moment. In my opinion, don’t over think it or over do it…the BIG day is tomorrow!

We didn’t put a photo on our save the dates (because everyone does lol), so we chose to use one of our engagement photos for the rehearsal dinner invite. I designed and ordered it through Wedding Paper Divas and loved how they turned out. Simplistic but elegant, same script used on our save the dates and in our wedding colors 🙂 #details
