Winter Wine Sip: Reds!

With the coolness of Fall behind us and the winter chill upon us, our menus tend to be a bit heavier and heartier: meats, beef stew, short ribs…yum! I’m excited to break out my crock pot…and so is my husband!

Shout out to Chrissy Teigen for this AMAZING beef stew recipe! Check it out, HERE

With this menu our wine selections also change. I must say, season aside, I still might choose champagne…however, that aside the best choice(s) to compliment these heartier dishes would be Reds!

Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. Your preference. Even true wine connoisseur’s (which let’s be honest, I love wine but I am not) don’t agree on this point.

I typically lean toward a Malbec, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. If you like something a little light-bodied, you might try a Shiraz or Chianti.

Even if it’s just dinner for two, I’d start with a sharp cheddar (on your cheese plate), lots of amazing goodness in between and for the perfect finish….Dark Chocolate…drops!
