So many firsts in 2014, and the holidays were no different! I was very excited about celebrating our first Hanukkah as a married couple (and to be able to put our beautiful wedding china to use – woohoo!) so I wanted us to start a tradition of celebrating the first night together.
Williams- Sonoma had some beautiful pieces for the holiday that I purchased (here & here – a couple other items unfortunately are discontinued now that the holiday season has passed) to make our table festive and my go-to gal Ina Garten had some wonderful recipes I tried!
On the menu:
~Slow Cooked Brisket – my first time making it and first time using our new slow cooker (needless to say, I was nervous) my hubs said it was some of the best brisket he’s ever had – mission accomplished 🙂
~ Potato Latkes
~ Steamed brussel sprouts

On the 3rd day of Hanukkah, we went to my mother-in-laws for a gathering of friends/family. My contribution – a Star of David double chocolate bundt cake (also a first):
